What Is Naturally Refined?

When I set out to create The Laurel Home, my goal was to create a space where I could exhale. A place where you knew from the moment you walked in the door, you could settle in and leave the world behind. Like those exclusive resorts where you can tell you will have an amazing vacation just by the smell of the lobby.

And as a Taurus, my ability to exhale is rooted in nature. As an earth sign that's also ruled by Venus, Taureans love pleasure and enjoy all things luxurious and cozy. Quality over Quantity. Function over Filler. While I love nature, I’m not granola. I appreciate and crave things that are special. Not showy, pretentious, or fake. It’s that sense you get from someone so confident in themselves, they can sit silently with nothing to prove. Those people who are brilliant, but don’t need to prove it to others.

With that in mind, I set out to create a home that was “naturally refined”. A place that incorporated nature, but in a way that exuded a quiet confidence.

Naturally Refined is:

• Uncluttered: Focusing on function over filler

• Individualistic: Not leaning to trends or opinions of others
